Realization of the day

If these legs can run 12 miles and I can't find a pair of pants that fit right, that's the fault of the pants, cause there ain't nothing wrong with my legs!

I think now would be a good time to tell people that you have an end of summer goal (end of august) to be at least halfway to your fundraising goal! Tell people, if everyone donated "$30" (or whatever you want... $50 is good too), you would be at that goal soon! I know it is hard and awkward, but trust me, people are happy to give if you ask for it. And start posting pictures. People like pictures. Honestly, people like to see the progress that they think they are helping make. Fundraising was the single most difficult thing for me, especially with the added pressure after recommitting. If they would make an alumni half-marathon team with a fundraising goal of maybe $500, I think I would join every season pretty much forever. But it's extremely hard to raise $2000 or more... I don't think most people realize how even small donations help SOOO much when they add up.

Anyways... I think we are due for a 14-miler blog pretty soon, missy. Complete with pictures! Start calling people and emailing them for the fundraising. It really helps to email them your update email, then call to make sure they got it. If they know how important it is to you, trust me, they will help. And in the end, they will be just as proud of you as they EVER were. It's amazing to be a part of this, you will really never forget it.
